Lisa and Gary Haubner brought their friends the Schmidt family and “Miss” Sarah made a wonderful apple dessert that complimented all the other delicious dishes!!
Saturday night Mustard Seed Hill welcomed about 600 folks to their campus for hot chocolate and cookies and an opportunity to take pictures at the giant ornament and spectacular ribbon tree! Shawn and Megan said it was FANTASTIC!! ( we were sorry to miss but thanks to our daughters we went to the Bob Seeger Farewell tour in Louisville !!!!) Sunday, the Christian Church held their annual Christmas program for the community. We’ve been attended for several years and it is always very special! Bro Curtis Allen hosted the program and Bro David Dupree ( Methodist Church) assisted. Christmas music was presented by Holly Doyle, Elaine Deutsch, Judy Cleaver, Kim Fryman, Sam and Rachel Powdrill, Rebecca Hopkins , Sam Powdrill played Carols on the saw and it was beautiful, Sam Gillespie, Bro Curtis and Bro David, and the Christmas liturgy from the book of Luke was read by Arlene Allen. Warm fellowship was shared after the service with delicious goodies prepared by the ladies of the church.
Monday night was the final council meeting of 2018. Mayor and Mrs. Chanslor wished all a Merry Christmas with tasty snacks before the meeting. This is a holiday tradition for Sam and all look forward to it. Mayor Chanslor thanked everyone for their service to the City and thanked the City for allowing him to serve as a council member and then mayor for close to 20 years. Business conducted addressed blighted, abandoned and vacant properties , collection of back taxes and the upcoming annexations. All are welcome to attend the council meetings… the first Monday night of the month at 7 p.m.
